Pulu

There's a really cute little shop in Helsinki where my friend works. The name is Pulu, which means pigeon in English, but the word is 1005 times cuter in Finnish :) There's also another shop in the same store, Triibu, which (to my knowledge) means absolutely nothing. You can buy all sorts of funny and chic jewelry, decorating pieces, clothes, stuffed Moomins etc. For example I bought my Portugese friend a Mini-Bunny when I went to see him in Malta with other Erasmus friends. There was a tag where the bunny said that he likes to eat a lot so that he can grow big, and that he especially likes pickled minionions and snowflakes! How cute!

http://www.puludesign.com I heard it's also gonna be a e-shop soon.

April shopping

I wanna show my favourite things I bought this month. Not much (which is good), but enough. Our home is far from ready (we still have a bed in the living room... Which is actually great for studying: comfortable but not the bed you're supposed to fall a sleep on. And I'm not even a student anymore but I still study Spanish almost every night!)

First: Tulips! (First time ever that I bought cut flowers to myself! Absolutely not the last. I don't expect receiving flowers every two weeks from my guy...:))

Second: Iittala mini Aalto candle holder (the pretty one in the lower corner)

Third: Retro art from my favourite second hand store (to our kitchen and hall door)

Fourth: A Nomination bracelet and a heart piece for it for 14 € from my second favourite 2nd hand store Fida, where my friend works. I always want to wear something on my wrist, but I haven't had anything there for a long time (I tend to lose everything I own if I carry them with me). Conclusion: happy at an affordable price :)

Flock

I'm trying to wake up my artistic side to compensate the working mind. So I came up with birds. And to compensate the lack of originality (apparently everything is about birds now), I tried my wings and just cut the birds really freestyle, scissors in right hand and a piece of white fabric in another. This way I got a flock of birds, every one an individual, just like we nature's creatures are.

Bean Soup

Weird weird Sunday. I should have a huge hangover, because last night I was so drunk I forgot to take my ID to the city after our housewarming party and I was just afraid I wouldn't get inside because I was so drunk. (Well, I did, maybe because I finally started to look like an old woman.) Anyway, this weirdness is probably caused by one pill I swallowed... I discovered a whole new world of no hangover. The secret is to take a B-vitamin pill before going to sleep :) Works almost every time, but I still think it's weird, because normally my Sundays after hard partying are pure hell. So, I dedicate this weird picture of my bean soup for this weird Sunday.

Today was also the first day of year I really felt the vitamin D in me. I was sunbathing under a blanket, ankles outside the balcony. Eyes closed, cool breeze, hot sun, almost hearing the freckles multiplying. I don't know what would be better.

Helsinki in Pink

Helsinki in Green

Last autumn I thought I'd make a collage of green and red buildings in Helsinki, but I totally forgot it. Now that my computer broke (mutherfucker!) and I started testing my copies if they work, I found those pictures. So I said to then 'long time no see' and pushed them into one:

Extra Sheet

Went to an Oriental Food Market today. Went nuts. Found an awesome meal for my Polish friend, who comes to Helsinki soon. Plus I discovered that all sushi stuff (nori, soy sauce, wasabi, vinegar, rice) is about 50% cheaper than in a super market!

Look at the cute detail in the side of the package: a zip pic to demonstrate the "sealability" (if that's even a word).
